Intergenerational Programs

Storytelling sessions where seniors share their wisdom and experiences with younger generations, creating meaningful connections and preserving cultural knowledge.

Technology Support

Digital literacy workshops, smartphone and computer training, and support with online services to help seniors stay connected with family and access modern conveniences.

How It Helps

Combats Social Isolation

Regular social activities and community connections help prevent loneliness and depression, which are common challenges for seniors, especially those new to Canada.

"I was feeling so lonely after moving here to be with my children. Now I have friends who understand my journey and we support each other." - Maria, 68

Maintains Cultural Identity

Our programs celebrate diverse cultural backgrounds while helping seniors maintain their traditions and share them with others in a welcoming environment.

"Being able to cook traditional foods with other grandmothers and share stories from home makes me feel valued and connected to my heritage." - Fatima, 72

Promotes Active Aging

Through wellness activities, learning opportunities, and community involvement, seniors stay physically and mentally active, contributing to better health outcomes.

"The gentle exercise classes and health workshops have helped me manage my diabetes better and I feel stronger than I have in years." - James, 75

Bridges Generations

Intergenerational programs create meaningful connections between seniors and younger community members, fostering mutual respect and understanding while preserving valuable knowledge.

Stories from Our Senior Community

Real experiences from seniors who have found connection, purpose, and joy through our programs

Finding Family in Community

"When I first arrived from Nigeria to live with my daughter's family, I felt like a burden. I didn't speak much English and didn't know anyone. The seniors program changed everything. Now I have friends who call me 'Mama' and I teach young people how to make proper jollof rice. I feel useful and loved again."

- Adunni, 69, Program participant for 3 years

Learning Never Stops

"At 78, I thought I was too old to learn about computers. But the technology workshops were so patient and encouraging. Now I video call my grandchildren in Jamaica every week and even help other seniors learn. Age is just a number when you have the right support."

- Winston, 78, Technology workshop graduate
